Sorry I don't post often, but here is one I am pretty darn proud of.
Finished this one up not long ago, but had not gotten a chance to take any pics. Here are a few quick pics and specs:
Blade is S3V with a 7 inch long edge and a Bo-hi cut. The habaki was made following Jesus Hernandez's tutorial on line using copper plate and high tempt silver solder. The brass spacer with the black fiber adds a nice contrast to the beautiful tulipwood that was hand carved and lacquered with inlaid ivory colored ray-skin. The mekugi is american white oak dowel, and removing the mekugi allows full dissasembly. All the work was done by hand with hand tools (except the mekugi holes and the Hi was cut with a mill, then cleaned up by hand). This is my first true Japanese style blade, and I have two more in the pipeline.
