I just put a C&S extended safety in a C-series P-35. You can just barely discern a click into the hole when switching safety on and off and the safety is mushy and difficult to move. I already have a blister forming, hah, been shooting Glocks too much and my thumb has forgotten the joy of a good thumb safety.

So, do I modify the frame detent holes or modify the detent... or both... how?

Thanks!

Check this thread, there might be a few bits that will help. But also, I have taken the extractor spring buffer for an AR15 and added it to the BHP safety detent spring and had good results. I've modified the detent end shape. I've never modified the dimples in the frame but I sure would if I had to!
