1911 board asking about a DA/SA pistol, I know, but I'm not trolling :)

I have an old W. German Sig P228 that I cant let go because of the way it comes to hand. As a carpenter I've come to really appreciate tools that are comfortable in hand.

I hate the first DA pull on it though, a long 12+ lb pull that isn't all together smooth.

I'm leaning toward sending it out to Grayguns for work because they specialize in Sig's
-Competition Short Reset Package
-P-Series Precision Intermediate Trigger
-Welded and fitted internal overtravel stop
-Single action pre-travel stop

Question for smiths and members: Would you have any opinions or suggestions for having any additional work done by Grayguns or possibly another smith on my P228

I have not really tracked who works on SIGs but I have to think that among them, Grayguns is at the top. Having met Bruce and knowing a little bit about him, I wouldn't hesitate to send him one.

I have several pistols by Mr. Gray. They're absolutely brilliant. Each one tailored to my specifications, elegant, professionally done..... and each has been bullet proof.

I'll share some pic's!

I ended up sending my old P228 off to Grayguns for some of their work and goodies:

- Competition Short Reset Package
- PSPIT Intermediate Trigger
- Pretravel Reduction
- Intermediate Mag Release
- Nickel (PTFE) Plating of the internals
- Fat Guide Rod
- Dawson FO front sight with a Warren Tactical rear

For a DA/SA pistol the trigger work feels great, especially noticeable with the first double action pull. The pics are simple iPhone deals and obviously she's not a custom LTW work of art but she's looking pretty nice for a 1993 W. German.
