Hello everyone thought I share sad news for our 1911 community the passing of John Jardine. Great man and great smiths. May John rest in peace

Thank you for sharing the bad news. I've written here and elsewhere a few times about John and what a gentleman he was and for sure a 1911 guru. I will see if I can find these and put them up in memory of a guy who was all about doing it right and did not seek attention for it.

I did a quick search here on LTW about John and there are three pages of posts in at least three threads.

The last one is about one of my works but John helped out and is discussed a little bit.

John was and outstanding guy. When he came into the local gunshop he would share his new projects that he was delivering to his customers. He was always taking the time to share his knowledge and explain to you what you did not know or understand. He also had a great sense of humor.
I consider myself lucky to have owned one of his 1911's.

May he rest in peace.
