To anyone with family or friends in the Gulf Coast, my prayers and thoughts are with you. May they all remain safe from harm and persevere through these tough times.

GOD Bless you all.

+1

My family and most of our closest freinds came through ok. We are trying to contact others, but the cell towers are overloaded.

We have a newer house and are on "high ground." (at least for Houston, Texas) The real damage was done east and north-east of Houston, in some lesser known towns called Orange, Sabine, and Beaumont.

The storm is nearly 100 miles inland and still at Hurricane strength - currently kicking the crap out of Jasper Texas and some of the areas where they told Houston residents to evacuate to.

<><> I was stationed in Orange in the
early 60's,,, and remember a time when
the streets were flooded from a hurricane,,,
but nothing like what is happening now...

My thoughts and prayers go out to those
folks...

We used to hang out at the bowling
alley,,, and the pool hall... AAHHHH,,,
what memories...
