A very well done site guys, my hat is off to you all! :D The level of expert skill and dedication to perfection in craftsmanship is clearly evident! It's an honor to be invited to post here and to watch the artistry in metal take shape from conception, to completion, by the masters of our craft! Two of the masters that inspired me to follow the same path in my own search for tactical perfection in a 1911 pistol are founding members, Tim Brian and Ted Yost.

This is my first post, so I feel the need to introduce myself. Forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong forum, I'll be very brief. My name is Connor McKenna, owner and sole smith of Classic Custom, north of the border here in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. For nearly 15 years I have worked exclusively on the 1911 pistol, and just recently (2 years now) have begun the same tactical work on the Browning Hi Power. I stay extremely busy in my home based shop, building pistol after pistol, but ALWAYS take the time required to keep each and every single customer happy and educated on their newly acquired pistol(s). Much like yourselves, my customers are my business, and my business is my passion!

I am always striving to learn more, and have absolutely no doubt in my mind that this is where my continuing education will take place! ;) Please, carry on guys, I promise to sit quietly out of the way and observe. :D

Connor

Well I would like to be the first to say Welcome, and we are very glad you are here. However, sitting quietly and observing won't get it. :P Seriously please feel free to chime in and provide us any pictures of your work. Input here is always welcome and encouraged. Hope you are around for years to come.

Thank you for the welcome Steve! If it's alright with you, I would LOVE to stay here for years to come! :D Also, thanks for letting me off the hook!... I don't think I would have been able to sit quiet for very long, but I do promise to behave. :D

My wife and I are currently building the Classic Custom website. As Ive mentioned to Tim through e-mail, the site is extremely complex as it has a 50's theme, keeping with the Classic Custom name. It is a work of art in progress. I promise it will be an extremely fun website to visit, yet remains retro 50's with a sophisticated twist! ;)

I am currently into two new builds. One is a Government length pistol being built and tuned in a complete tactical format. This pistol is my own. The other is what I like to refer to as a "short - sheeted" Government model. This pistol belong to a life long friend and local law enforcement officer, who is always trying to talk me out of my own version of this pistol. :D I think both pistols will demenstrate a Classic Custom pistol, and I would be honored to share the photos here when complete!

It has always been my goal to achieve the status of the members here, and you have my word, my actions will reflect this goal. In short, I'm quite honored to be here!

Connor,
I can't wait to see the website. You absolutely have to get pictures up of those guns, I would love to see them. We are looking forward to your ideas and input.
Steve

Conner, Welcome and I'd also like to see your work. New ideas are always fun and interesting. Jeez, after a while you look at the 1911 or HP and you've run out of fresh ideas. A fresh outlook is always interesting and informative. :D

Hello Don, thank you for the warm welcome. :) I know what you mean regarding a fresh outlook on the 1911 and BHP. It's like that sandwhich made by someone else... you really enjoy and appreciate the sandwhich you are able whip up yourself, but that same sandwhich made by someone else just tastes better! ;) I am honored to walk among the greatest sandwhich makers in the industry! :D

I am a HUGE fan of expertly taken photos, so when these pistols are complete, I promise to have someone other than myself take them to do the pistols justice! :D Admittedly, a fine photographer I am not!

Hello Ted! No offense taken... ;) It's truly great to be here! In fact, I do have a photo I would like to post, I'm e-mailing it to you now. If you can post it for me, I'll tell the story that goes with it... ;)
