This has been on a few forums, but I didn't see it here, so thought some would want to know.

Lt Col Jeff Cooper is very ill, probably gravely so.
He went in for surgery on vertabrae fractures, and suffered a heart attack. He had to be revived. There was apparently a lot of heart damage, and the prognosis is bad.
Evidently, there is nothing that can be done.
He has a Do Not Resucitate order, and has been sent home to be made as comfortable as possible.

I've never met him, but owe him a lot. I'm sure most of us feel that way, and those who don't probably don't understand the influence he has had.

My prayers, hopes, and best wishes go to the Sconce and the Cooper family.

Hello. I met the good colonel on a couple of occassions and he was a gentleman of the first order. Though I didn't agree with everything he said, he did offer sound advice in my view and was not afraid to express his beliefs.

Men of his caliber are all too few and I will regret his passing and wish the best for his family and friends.

Best.

Reports now sound a little better, but he's not through the storm by any means.
Apparently, while his body has failed him some, he is concious and mentally sharp. As with anyone his age, and with ailments already, things can change quickly. So keep praying and hoping for the best.

Whatever happens in the future, he can take comfort in knowing a LOT of grateful people are pulling for him, and I'm sure he'll face this with grace and dignity.

Evidently, he passed today.
I hope he enjoys the next life as much as this one. I'm sure he will.
