My 4th annual Marine Birthday Party was another hit. I invite only currently serving or former Jarheads and their spouses or fiance' (about 50-50 enlisted and officers; one fiance this year - her betrothed is deployed with a S-2 scout sniper unit in Iraq as we speak). This year we had two WWII vets, several Korean war vets, several Vietnam vets, and two currently serving attendees. We have people from both political parties. Although views of whether we should have gone into Iraq when we did differ, there is complete uniformity of support for the troops once they have been placed into harms way.

There is no question that our currently serving troops are some of the finest young and not-so-young people this country has to offer. I join the others is thanking the individuals who currrently serve in uniform.
