Hello Gentlemen, I found this site while I was looking for custom 1911 sites. I filled out a registration form, and started to wander around looking at all the beautiful craftmanship displayed here. After reading some of the posts I realized that this is a private site, I'm sorry to barge in uninvited. I'm having a custom 1911 being built by a very talented craftsman ( Joe Dlask ). I see from your "location" that you are from a different time zone, sort of. They had 1911's back then?

Yes we did have 1911’s in B.C., checkering the granite front strap was a real bitch, and finding flints for the ignition system was almost impossible! A couple of the gunsmiths on this site can confirm this information because they actually lived in that time zone also, but I was asked to not identify them. Actually I should have been more specific, B.C. stands for British Columbia Canada.
