I am relatively new to this forum, and I have scant experience as an active participant.
The thing that I value most in this forum is the abscense of shrillness and stridency found in most "shooting" forums.

I have not found any "commandos" either. That is very good indeed.

Another factor I enjoy so much, is the civility and decency of the members who have, based on their written submissions, the wonderful mix of experience and expertise, tempered by the houmor and modesty that attaches to the really knowledgable.

I am glad to be here among you all. 8)

Glad to have you, Joel. We do indeed have a great family here at LTW.

Joel, Welcome, (but you should hear what we say to one another when there's no-one around).

Thank you all for the warm welcome.
To Lou Allessi especially, thank you.
You will not recall Lou, but you have provided working gear for me at several stages in my former career, ranging over twenty years. All of those items are still in remarkable and usable condition.

I probably could follow my career path thru those bits of equipage at differents ranks and assignments. Sort of a "leather baby book".

It is very comfortable to be here among all of you.

I too am new here, though I've been lurking for some time. I would like to echo Joel sentiments. LTW is like an oasis of civility in the gun forum world. Perhaps that is because the men that started this place are some of the finest craftsmen and artists in the gun world. They seem to see no need to compete with each other. Here they help, encourage and actually collaborate with each other on their wonderous creations. Anyone can see that they truely care about each other and the mission of this forum.
I have one of Uncle Lou's great holsters, and later this year I will have the pleasure of taking delivery of a Rogers/Rodgers full house gun. Signing on to LTW is always a good part of my day. Thank you to the board for bringing it to me and to all the members that make it great.

Bob

A hearty "WELCOME" to both of you. You have hit the nail squarely on the head in your analysis of our fine group of folks. I am quite proud to call each and every one of them my friend.
Best regards to all,
Jeffro (Jeff)

Joel,

Welcome to one of the finest places on the net. All pressure of feeling unwelcome or unworthy worthy leave when you get your reply to the very first post you make. I must say for all concerned everyone here does a great job.

Joel, Well, you made my day, and it's been a long one at that. It's always nice to hear from a long time satisified customer, who has made it through to retire in peace.
Thanks a million!
Lou
