Well many of you know how important those two words are when used in a remote site. In most cases those two words are a very important link back to the world. They bring in food, water, ammunition, fresh faces, news but to the individual the most important thing they bring is mail.
When the rotors are heard on the base folks tend to get pretty pumped up anticipating a weeks worth of mail to be delivered. Today was no different. Well I am stretching that, it was different today. I know many of you have had the thrilling experience of UPS or FEDEX bringing you a package from anyone of the fine craftsmen that make up LTW. What most of you probably don't know is the feeling of getting a package from not one of these gentlemen but from two of them. Stop let me correct that once again...one package from Mr. CT Brian, and two from Mr Ned Chritiansen. Well imagine my surprise when three such packages arrived here, ALL at once...way beyond shock.
I kept trying to figure out how these two guys would manage to send me out three highly prized 1911's (So everyone finally gets the answer to the question that I've been asked...Yes there are quite a few old war-horses running around here with everything from Remington Rand to Colt...even saw a Singer...)back to the events of the day. I figured that either of these two guys have the fortitude, the balls, and brains to get the USPS to carry said firearms out of the country to this......place (best term I could use without using some pretty foul language) But I knew for sure I didn't have anything out to them quite yet to get built...and I wondered what neat stuff they rigged the pistols with to prevent this place from destroying their art work...
you see the one thing this place does is it gives you a pretty vivid and wild imagination....
So I hurried back to my room and I opened up the two from Ned to find in one a bag of...
screws...hmmm..Just kidding they were in fact screws, but they're the kind I need as a backup for my sight... I then opened my second from Michigun and new editions to my rapidly growing library. It sounds funny but getting something to read other than Army manuals is a pretty important thing to keep ones ever waning sanity. Fact is since I've been here Ned has been pretty regular at keeping all of the guys here well supplied with all sorts of reading material. After they make it out of my cell...I mean room they make the rounds here until the pages are dog-eared ragged. Thanks Ned...and all of the guys out here with me thank you too...
Then I had visions of a small pony with a hell of a big bite inside this box from CT. I cut the tape and opened it...now you would think coming from CT that if it were a picture, it would be some babe, barely clothed sitting astride a huge Harley autographed with a big lipstick kiss....well not quite...
It was in fact a picture and one that will hang here with me and will sit on my wall when I get home. I was honored to get an autographed photo of the BoDs with Al Shear from last years shot show...a veritable who's who in the custom 1911 community and a gift I will cherish...well until someone offers me a nice CCW in a straight up swap.

Kidding...
In all sincerity thank you all..I really wish I could have been there but sometimes things come up that force you to put things you would rather do aside. It means alot to me. Thanks.
Oh and Ned...are you sure that whole bottle made it to Vegas...or better yet made it to the meeting? Seems your the only one staring at the empty bottle...and you look a bit sad....
Tim, Ned, Ted, Steve,Jason,Uncle Lou, Stan, Don, Al, John and Chuck...Thank you all...
