Awesome goat Mark! So what part of Montana were you in? I've hunted the southeast corner by Broadus and Powder River?
Will, I hunt near Jordan every year. This is the fourth straight year that we have hunted that area. I've had great luck, and made some great friends up there.

But I spy a Weatherby across the goat; Accumark 30-378 with the factory muzzle brake? Or did you get the hammer 338-378 instead?
That one is the 30-378. I want the 338-378, but I haven't added one to the collection yet. It was WAY TOO much gun for the goat, but it was the rifle that was handy when we found this group.
I spent nine days up there and four days hunting antelope. We only saw does the first three days, and I did a lousy job of judging distance, wind, and shooting. But I had a great time nonetheless. There were a couple of good sneaks too. I managed to close on some does from about a mile away down to 300 yards. Unfortunately, that day I didn't judge the wind, and they were GONE!
So I basically gave up on the goats, and we filled our mule deer tags. Then on the last day of hunt, we decided to scout for next year. We say four nice mule deer bucks that morning. Then on the way back in to Jordan, we decided to stop by a ranch near where I shot my antelope doe last year. We were told that the antelope we saw across the road were on state land, so we decided to go after them.
They were about 300 yards off the road, bedded down. We managed to sneak up to about 125 yards before the spotting doe gave the signal. They all stood up and there was this buck on the left in the clear, so I drilled him with the Weatherby. The shot was in the neck and he dropped on the spot. He was dead before he every hit the ground. The exit was about the size of a large grapefruit. The group (about 20 goats) took off running, and that was the end of my hunting for this year
It was a fantastic trip, and I really look forward to next year. The people in Jordan are great. We always feel welcome when we visit.
