John pretty much nailed it. You know, I don't often hear people refer to BBQ guns in a derogatory way. You hear overtones of it with safe queens but hardly ever BBQs. That, at least, is my experience.

A Barbeque gun is sort of what you wear when you want to wear your finest outfit. It's kinda like your Sunday clothes!
