Could somebody tell me why my thread for a gun that I marked as "sale pending" just three days ago has now been deleted, while the thread for a gun that I marked as sold back in August is still there? Thank you.

You know I posted in that thread and that post has disappeared.

Yep, the whole thread is gone. I can understand the need for house keeping down there, but it would have been nice to have been able to close the deal down prior to thread termination!
Perhaps the HK45 carries more juice with the staff here

Thank you for the reply Ned.

The question still stands.

Crickets huh? That's nice.

I see that my dated sales thread has now also gone, and so apparently the secret sweeper has stopped by here this week and read this post.

Thank you for extending the courtesy of replying to my inquiry. Classy move.

Again, thank you for your reply Ned. It is good to know that manners have not totally left us here on the forum. My best to you and yours for the new year ahead.

I have filed the requisite forms in eightuplicate to Central Control, requesting the request forms to get an answer as to which form I should use to request further forms in the pursuit of an answer..... let's wait and see what happens 8)

Ned you are too kind

Mr. Burton actually took time out of his day earlier today to get in touch.

He was very quick to point out that he was not the secret sweeper, but that he would restore my thread if I wanted him to. I thanked him for his time and for the offer. Like yourself, Jason is a good dude with good manners.

Perhaps I woke up extra crooked this morning, but all that was needed here was a "hey, I had a brain fart & hit the wrong button. Sorry about that". No big deal, and we would all be driving off into the sunset by now.

But sneaky deletions and then crickets just won't fly with me. I am far too irritable to let that sort of nonsense go unchecked from my Central Command viz the comfort of my modestly embroidered reclining armchair!

Anyhow thank you for injecting some humor here and for asking around to figure out who we can blame and how many lashes they should get for their blatant disregard

You Sir are a real Gentleman, and if I ever get up into the cold bleak North again I will be bringing a new pad & pen with me to cover your personal form-related outlay as noted here and an extra copy of Top Banana magazine as a thank you for all of your troubles! And maybe, just maybe, I will be able to show you my new Peruvian pistol leather from you know who should that ever actually arrive. But of course that is another battle for a different day.

Enjoy your weekend.

All the best,
Richard

I thought I was going crazy. One day there was a few recent post(your HD gun was one of them) then the next day gone??? I thought you deleted it because maybe it sold.

All's well that ends well.... maybe it was a glitch...?

You have inspired me. We should all have a modestly embroidered armchair. I have resolved to spend one hour a day this week with Opti-Vizor and Exacto knife, working on my gloriously and extravagantly embroidered armchair to bring it back down to "modestly".

Best of luck with the leather order-- patience is stretched but rewarded with good stuff eventually. Check my post in custom leather.....

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, Carrots. Don't know how it slipped past my feeble mind.

Unfortunately, I haven't a clue as to what happened, either. Maybe as was suggested before, a system goblin? They are terribly mean spirited critters.

Tim

No worries Tim, I have been on a Martini kick for the past couple of days and have removed this horror from my mind.

We will blame the computer critters with their fat fingers & say no more about it.

And Ned, let me know if you need ideas re: the redesign of the Christiansen fabric family throne. There is a very fine line between too much and too little when applying embroidered embellishments and I have that merit badge. It was hard earned.

I tried to watch the linked TV feature but my Spanish wasn't good 20 years ago and is worse now. It looked like it all went well though.

Who knows, perhaps by the time my outstanding leather order has been delivered I will be fully fluent once again and have my own slot on one of these chirpy daytime shows to discuss the merits of patience, the art of fabric selection and the wizardry involved behind the scenes in the running of certain internet forums.

As far as the gun goes, the USPS now seem to have "misplaced" payment somewhere along the way. Never a dull moment, and a funny business indeed. I will need a long lie down after this sales completes. What a ride!

And for those who are there I hope that you enjoy the show and the hospitality. There is nothing quite like borrowing other peoples guns and hot blondes simultaneously. Perhaps spare a thought for those of us with the snow and only furry character slippers for comfort
