I've lucked upon an early SA Champion (with barrel bushing) that has apparently spent some time in Springfield's Custom Shop. It's matte blued, has Novak sights, an Ed Brown beavertail safety, what appears to be a King's thumb safety and 30 lpi checkering on the front strap. It has 'Super Tuned' engraved on the left forward portion of the slide. It's in 95%+ condition. My dealer was asking $795 for it. Any other info would be appreciated. I'll post a pic as soon as I can. TIA

Best bet would be to call the Springfield Custom Shop with the gun's serial #.

According to the nice lady at Springfield's Custom Shop, my Super Tuned Champion left the factory in April of 1997. Upon closer examination, this gun will rate closer to 98+%. Now to find some ivory grips for it! Pics to follow.... :D
