This might not be the best place for this post, but I felt such great service and work should not go by without mention, so I apologize for that. I acquired a S & W Model 19 some time back. It was blued and mechanically great. However, there was a lot of wear on the blueing, and most distressing, it had Pachmeyer rubber grips which were apparently never removed, so the area under the grips was badly pitted, and because the right grip panel goes high up on the frame, the area at the rear part of the trademark (S & W logo) was pitted also. I decided to send it to Ford Refinishing to have it cleaned up as best as possible and bright nickeled.
I received it back today, and it just blew me away. They must have done the pitting removal all by hand, as the logo was just as deep as when I sent it, the sideplate looks like brand new, as does the rest of the revolver, and they even redid the color case hardening on the hammer and trigger. They didn't even charge me any extra for the cleanup and case-hardening, even though I told them up front that it would be fair for them to do so. They are great people with which to work and I highly recommend them.
