Dilemma: Purchased the Colt CCO no ambi safety. I'm left handed, I'm also a retired cop living in the Jurisdiction I used to serve.

Two gunsmiths live within 200 miles of me. One builds beautiful rifles and will work on Revolvers when he gets time. I had him shorten a bbl on a 44 Spl Smith for me only took 4 months.

The other gunsmith specializes in 1911s, AR 15s, and Combat Shotguns.
I had him do a final fit for a drop in grip safety and a flat mainspring housing and pre cut hammer and sear on a Gov't Model. That took five
months. I need this Colt up and going with an Ambi Safety right away 2-4 weeks tops. Is there anyone out there who can do this work with a short turn around time?

Thanks for the info. I went and found a farmer who is a good machinist and has built several Mauser rifles. Took him a Brown Tactical Ambi Safety and he assisted me in cutting the correct amount of steel and at the correct angle. I did the cutout on the Micarta grips with (gasp!) a Dremel tool.

The safety is fitted! Correctly and the grips still look like custom Micarta grips. This dilemma solved.

Thanks for your assistance.
