In 1992, I bought this stainless S80 Enhanced Commander. From the get go, it was a PITA. Under warranty, Bain & Davis made it right, but the pistol just never grabbed me and in 1993 when I bought a Springfield Milspec, the Commander got regulated to only occasional use.

Just a few months ago I almost sold it on this forum but my wife talked me out of it. After deciding what to do with the pistol, I sent the pistol off to Tripp Research with a list of things I wanted changed.

Trigger work (now 4 lbs)
Heine Straight 8's
Reliability work
Serrated slide and front strap to mathc LPI of MSH.
Carry bevel
New slide stop and safety
Commander hammer and grip safety
New tuned extractor
New fitted bushing
Hard chrome finish
Larry Davidson grips

I am very pleased with the results. :)

Mr. Beiler,

I second the accusation! The blaster pictured above is most certainly a changed piece, and all the pieces are better than before. I'm kind of glad that Colt turns out a few turds now and again. It gives us all something to be amazed at later on. That gun went from butt ugly to drop dead gorgeous. Shoot straight and prosper.

GOD bless you & yours.

Thanks.

I can honestly say it's now the pistol I REALLY wanted when I bought it in 1992.

Just took me 13 years to get there.... :D
