I haven't had a chance to take pictures yet (just got my hands on it two days ago), so this is just a quick teaser snapshot - my new Caspian Titanium 9mm CCO by John Harrison. All I can say is this gun is amazing; I simply can't find the right words to describe what I feel - I'm sure all of you with custom guns know what I mean. I'll try to take more pictures and post some detail in a few days.

Whoa dude. Beautiful piece, how did this one slipped away without me seeing it in person. Please let us know how it shoots. Remember to keep it lubed, titanium doesn't like to run dry.

Every once in a while, I start to think John knows what he's doing.

All kidding aside, that is a beautiful gun. Ironically, just yesterday, I was thinking about the Ti commander that he built for RT. When I handled that baby at the SHOT Show, I knew it was special. Now, 4.5 months later, I know that I'll have John build one for me. A special piece, to be sure. Congratulations, Alex.

Be well!

Thanks everybody for your comments. It is indeed a very special piece to me; I realize that my tastes and preferences are a little different from others when it comes to carry guns, but this really is my idea of a perfect carry gun. And to those who think 9mm is not a good SD round - just wait until you see its twin brother in .45ACP. 8)

That is an amazing piece of work. Very similar to what I would love to own. I emailed him to see if he could build me something very similar with checkering instead of front and rear serrations in a 10mm version. That would be an almost perfect hand gun.

Simply amazing. The pics are really nice.

Beautiful pistol Alex. John has done it again. I can't believe RickyT didn't intercept this one.

Hey Alex. I get grief from my bud's over 9mm as well. However none of them will let me shoot them with my 9mm.

I think he came by on a couple of recon missions, but I always kept it in the tall grass!

Thanks to everyone for all the most generous comments :D .

Very nice indeed. Clean lines and the ball end cuts on the slide look absolutely perfect on this piece.

Congratulations Alex and very nice work John! :)

Very, very clean. Very nice work! As usual IMHO, John's work raises the bar.

What never ceases to amaze me for those of you who have not had the pleasure of working with John directly, is that above all else he is the consummate gentleman, patient to a fault in considering the machinations of his customers and every bit as honest as he is talented.

Mr. Harrison

What mags are you using in the CCO? Also, I presume it would be possible to convert it to dual caliber simply by fitting a .38 Super barrel. Is that correct?

I have had good luck with the Metalform "Springfield front ramp" mags. They usually require some tuning and stiffer springs to run 100% , but seem to be the best choice. You are correct about the caliber swap. A barrel & magazines and maybe an extractor are all you need to go from 9x19 to .38 Super.
