Would like to know if there are any Nowlin owners out there and if they have any pics. 8) I would like to order one but I haven't seen many of their "tuff" blue finish guns.

There are a bunch of pictures and reviews of Nowlin guns on the 1911 forum.

I don't know why it isn't working. Just go to the other 1911's forum and click on the search this forum tab and type in Nowlin. You will come up with pages and pages of threads on Nowlin guns and parts.

I'm pretty familiar with most forums so I've done that already but usually it's just pages and pages of 1911s that entail Nowlin parts and no pics. Just curious if anyone had any pics around here, I figured there would be some owners around here.

you can go to John's website and see some pics. http://www.nowlinguns.com should give you a taste. I've never heard any complaints on his firearms and have held a few, but never owned one.

I've shot a couple.. and they're great guns. Fit and finish is great, and they're as accurate as anything I've seen. The styling on some is a little much ( quite a few that I've seen have billboard-sized Nowlin logos on them), but my father bought one that was fairly plain looking.. beautiful pistol.

The bad news is that I'm fairly sure that Nowlin has gotten out of the firearms manufacturing business. I believe they auctioned off a ton of parts, tooling, etc last Saturday here in Tulsa.

Anyway, you might want to give them a ring or drop them an email to see if they're still around, and if so, what they still make. I've heard everything from "They've gone completely out of business" to "They just don't make complete pistols anymore".

One of the posters on the 1911 board e-mailed them about the auction. He said they told him that they were getting out of the parts business but still making guns. He wasn't sure if they were still making barrels.
