Tim - smooth, indeed, congratulations. Love the rounded mainspring housing!

Is the finish hard chrome with differing surface preps? It looks like chrome in the top picture, but somewhat darker up near the dust cover.

Pointman, it's actually a stainless series 70 government. It's not government length any more, as the slide has been shortened 1/2" to 'balance things out'.

This is a true master piece. This work is every bit as hard as the lines and checkering and all the rest. This is bare beauty at it's finest.

The natural shape along with the rounded look is fantastic. Great job.

That's a beauty, Tim. It seems to me to have an "elegance" about it. Is it appropriate to call a 1911 "elegant"? For some reason it just speaks to me of white gloves, tails, a top hat and a fine gold pocketwatch.

Tim,

How do you expect me to ever retire if you keep on showing beautiful works like this. I have added to the Colorado tax fund. Now I think I want another one. May be just one stainless commander to add to the others.

Lester

You should go back and have a gander at 'the hoax' preview, Barry. It was only a temporary tease......
