The short answer is, it's hard. Really hard. Not something someone who hasn't checkered a small office building should even consider
It should be considered on a risk/return basis. That is to say If I
don't scrap your frame, I can make "x" dollars per hour checkering a Hi-Power. In my case, hand checkering is a loser from a business perspective, but it
belongs on a hand built, highly detailed gun, and on a complete build, I can make up the loss in other areas. Consequently, I don't accept "checkering only" jobs under any circumstances - there are enough shops doing machine checkering these days to accommodate those jobs. They just don't typically do Hi-Powers.
