Well, mostly it's a Rogers. I had this gun a while back and sold it to Wayne (Mossy Rock, I think). Before I did, though, I installed the grip safety (modified Chip McCormick) and hand filed the mag well. I had planned on having this built up, but I changed my mind and worked out a sale or trade with Wayne (can't remember which). Funny thing is I ended up buying it back, regreting selling it, since Chuck had seen the work I did, and while it is not near the quality of the greats, he was complimentary, and I was proud. Afterall, Chuck doesn't hold back

. So once I got it back, I was able to convince Chuck to just finish it for me, and he did. I've had it back now for about three months and just got around to photographing it, so I hope you'll forgive the minor wear and handleing marks. After all, it gets carried and fired regularly.
I won't list everything that was done to it, since lots is visible, but I will mention what you can't see. This gun has a steel ramp expertly fitted to the frame to avoid the abuse some hollow points can inflict on an aluminum ramp. Additionally, the extractor has been relieved (thinned) to provie the tension on the case that Chuck felt was appropriate but not achievable with the standard Colt extractor in its stock form. Also, Chuck welded a bit of metal to the rear of the ejector, so the gap in the rear of the slide would not be too unsightly. This gun shows the amazing attention to detail that he has continuously demonstrated in an attitude that says, "good enough won't do."
I wish I could take better photos, but by this time most of you know how great one of Chuck's guns are, so please enjoy my modest attempt to show what Chuck did for me, and my amateur attempt at fitting a grip safety. I am very happy with this gun, and oh yeah, it shoots Wichester Silver Tip hollow points like they were made for eachother. It is my pleasure to share with you a gun perfected by a modern legend and a true friend. I like this gun so much I had to purchase my first set of Ivory grips. I chose mastadon ivory, because I liked the coloration against the chromed gun. Enjoy.
