I have a LB Monolith Hvy that I just bought because it was different.

The gun is very accurate and reliable, however some local LEO shooting matches might question it as it does not look like a duty weapon.

I have been toying with the idea of selling, but since the ride is so good, my other option is ball cuts to make it look more 1911.

Has anyone got any pics of a Monolith Hvy with ball cuts?

I have seen them (pics) on a SA Operator, but I want to see them on a LB MonoHvy before I commit.

and maybe some hard chroming afterwards!!!

thanks in advance

I would also get the frame shortened to spec. Ball cuts might look funny if you didn't.

Funny that you mention that. I have been thinking the monolith slide on a standard frame would be a very attractive combitnation.

I personal think the ball cuts look great on a short rail/dust cover 1911 frame but I cannot really envision them on a full length rail/dust cover. It would make the slide look wimpy IMHO. Whatever you chose to do, good luck on your endeavor and as long as you like it, it doesn't matter.. :)

Please forgive the crudeness of this work. I'm no pro, just thought that this might help.

Like a dream. And with very short wait time!
Now if I could only make them look like CT Brian and Ned C make them...

I almost forgot your front serrations.
Did you want to see it without shortening the dust cover?

Thanks Medic.

it does help, and you got me at first. I did not realize it was my ride.

I do like it.

My pleasure. Let me know if you want to see it with the frame back to full length, still with the ball cuts.

What are the chances you could draw one up with the Monolith slide and the standard government model length frame?

Hello Dapp

look in the for sell section under the link to the Sams Custom
for sell... you will see there is a Para Ordnance 10 mm
with the unique cut slide there..

I used to see adverts for an Israeli 1911 with a heavy slide on a standard frame. It wasn't photogenic, but it may be a choice for hot loads where delayed unlocking is in order. Other than that, I'll stick with ball cuts and standard scallops.
