Here are a few shots of an older Series 70 I just finished. It's a bit of a departure for me, the primary use of this gun will be for target shooting. This pistol came to me with a factory nickel finish. Chris Peters of Metaloy stripped the original finish, and our plans were to refinish the gun in hardchrome. Unfortunately, the quality of the metal under the nickel caused me to move on to "Plan B", which was to Parkerize it and add Enviro-Tech over that.

The stocks are from Esmeralda. Just a couple of chunks she grabbed from her winter woodpile, no doubt.:) I've still got to fit the right side to the thumb safety to allow full full travel, but I decided to photograph it before I cranked up the chainsaw.

The rear of the slide is serrated at 50 lines per inch to match the Bo-Mar sight.

The front sight is profiled in the Patridge style. It would flay a leather holster in a heartbeat, but it provides a wickedly precise sight picture.

Best wishes,
Bob

Hi:

Super nice pistol! Can someone tell me which thumb safety is fitted to the pistol? Went to Bob's web site but didn't see it in the photo gallery.

Thanks.

John

Another very nice pistol out of Arkansas. Bob's attention to the fine details always comes through.

Mr Rodgers,
A veritable cornucopia of pleasingly picturesque photography!
Ok, well done sir. But then again, masters produce masterpieces!

I had a front sight like that on one of my early ipsc pistols back in the eighties. I liked the sight picture.

Nice looking work of art there sir.

I know this one has been up here for a while, but I just came back for another look.
Very nice.
That front sight may be rough on some holsters, but it would be rough on an attempted gun-grabber's hand too, wouldn't it!

I really like how the finish ended up. What kind of cost is associated with a refinish like that.

The Envirotech on the gun went on over mil spec parkerizing, cost for the finish would be $195. (no shipping included in this price)
