So I was just flipping through some channels and COPS was on. I noticed that the officer with his gun drawn had a 1911. They then zoomed in on the gun (he was behind his cruiser door covering his partner) and you could plainly see the big Y on the rear of the slide. It was the exact same Y you see on all of Ted Yost's guns.

The gun had a blued slide and a hard chrome(?) frame. I never did find out what agency it was. I thought it was pretty cool to actually see a 1911 from Ted Yost being used on COPS.

Now I think I've figured out why some guys actually put out so few guns.

Sooner or later, the law of averages catches up with you and your work is showcased for the masses - either highlighted against the glistening paintless aluminum of a 1957 trailer house, or backgrounded by the sagging, beltless dirty white painter pants on a shirtless, mulleted meth-head being led from the trailer - you know, the real stars of COPS

I believe the PC term for these individuals is "persons having a tattoo to tooth ratio in excess of the national average"

Now I guess I'll have to watch the Court TV COPS marathon....Thanks a bunch, Scot!

haha that is great Ted but also you could always look at it from another angle...

Must be quite a gun if a guy who doesn't make anywhere near 100K a year will spend such a large portion of his income to carry something made by you and even more of a compliment that your work is what he is willing to trust his life to!

Lots of smiths out there can make great race guns which will almost shoot through the same hole over and over (with the proper shooter) but not many guys can make a 1911 which will run and run when being used in the real world... Most guys make their fit WAY too tight! And if you stress how you do not want it tight (so it can run in real world conditions) then they are so loose they can't keep a decent group. Not many of the talented smiths out there can make the perfect combination.

I think LTW has put togeter some of the best smiths out there and you guys made sure all of the others make real world guns!

Thanks Ted!
Thanks to all of the Artists of LTW

You also can't forget to factor in the Teeth to Fingers ratio either. I know there's an equation to compute a person's level of education by crunching the numbers regarding their tattoos, teeth, and number of shotguns the gun rack in the rear window of their rusted '78 F-150 will hold.

Cops, cop lingo, 10-8, Y must stand for YAM
(he says as he ducks for cover behind the wall under the couch)
Have all my teeth, if I could count to 10 I would know if I had all my fingers, but I only need the 1!

Seriously, we all knew Ted would make it to the big screen one day. Ok, he's not pretty enough but his guns sure are 8)

Congrats Ted. Just yankin' your chain buddy.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Ted!

I heard one of your guns came around to visit us out here.

Sorry I missed the filming that day, but I had to go pick up some food stamps and cigarettes, then bail my brother in law out of jail. They been hasslin him lately ya know.

Hey- Do you take food stamps?

Well.... things do look a little different when viewed through the bottom of one (martini glass). Maybe I should go back to paper cups

Starting Monday John, that 'nasty' rumor becomes fact. Watch out, the radar is calibrated
