If you are really worried about galling that you can have accurails installed.

Galling can be avoided keeping your gun properly lubricated. The other alternative is to make sure the contact points are not stainless on stainless. Accurails or welding the rails with carbon steel pads also do the trick.

Personally I would just leave it alone. I have a stainless 1911 with lots of round down range. I have always made sure that it was properly lubed and there are no signs of galling yet. YMMV.

Arthur, there should be no problem, especially in Colt OACP's. The galling is almost always when a gun is built too tight. I have two SS Colts that have had a good bit of use and never a lick of trouble. I've built some SS guns that were fairly tight and had them try to gall in fitting, but once they're loose enough to work, lubed a bit and shot a bit, there's no prob. I feel certain I could run either of my Colts bone dry and not gall them.... but I ain't gonna try it

Chuck Rogers taught me how to tweak S/S Colt Officer's Models. I did two and raised my price to $750.00 to avoid any further requests for that kind of work. So far, so good. These did not work. If yours works, shoot it and don't worry. Those two would not run a full magazine of hardbball. Good Luck with whatever you decide to do!
