excuse me if this is a stupid question but can anyone enlighten me as to how they are differant?

i noticed in the pic the classic has a bigger cut out in the mag well area...

the classic does not have the finger relief (or whatever it's called) near the back of the trigger area

The photos are at different angles, making it look like the Classic has a larger mag well. Ones is pretty flat the other, the camera is below the frame, looking up.

Frames differ in that one is a 1911 and the other is a 1911a1 - basically, what Lindermant said... The relief at the rear of the trigger guard is the a1 version.

oh yeah, doh.. :) thanks guys, i totally missed that. and should have known that. i remember reading about this in the 1911 book patrick sweeney wrote...
