I picked up another Combat Commander this afternoon that will eventually find it's way to one of the LTW Artists (as soon as I find one who is still accepting work! :) ). It is one of the so called Enhanced models with the raised flat rib on the top of the slide and a Seriously poorly fitted bevertail. It is used, so I don't know the full history but it appears to be completely stock. It came Pre 'Idiot Marked' by a previous owner who didn't know how to put the slide stop back in, but is in otherwise Great condition. It has a nice set of wood grips on it that the previous owner said were Kim Ahrends Tulipwood. I put 200 rounds through it and it shoots great! I Hate the sights and the Awful beavertail, but overall, I think I got a great deal!

It also Looks enough like my other colts that my wife saw it and thought it was just one of the ones I already had! 8)

I like the way those enhanced guns turn out. My favorite custom is an enhanced model CCO.

Funny you should mention the CCO! I was looking for that exact gun when I found this one and if I can find a decent Officer's Model, this may end up as a "semi-unofficial CCO copy" eventually.

Edited for Amazingly Bad spelling!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a wife that thinks all my 1911s look alike. She does wonder why I had to buy a bigger safe when all I have is one black gun and one silver gun. Enjoy your new Colt.
