Alrighty,

Some of you may remember my Miller custom "retro" build (and the quasi poop storm it started). Anyway, I sent it back to Bob to have some edges smoothed out and to have a beavertail put on. Well, I got it back about three weeks ago and finally got a chance to shoot it yesterday. Good God, what a difference! I positively LOVE it. It shoots even better than before (amazing what comfort will do). He smoothed out the 10-8 trigger face perfectly. There's still enough texture on it to help keep firm contact, but no sharp edges. I was able to put 350 rounds down range with no discomfort whatsoever let alone blisters etc. (I guess I have "thenthitive" fingers  ). Accuracy was freakin' ridiculously good and felt recoil was very little (beavertail combined with EGW fp stop) which allowed fast accurate follow up shots. I was able to keep everything in the "x" of a B27 pretty much as fast as I could acquire a sight picture at all distances I shot that day (7-20 yards). The YoBo retro rear sight is fantastic and allows (for me) the perfect combination of speed and precision. As for Bob, I can't possibly say enough positive about him. He helped me (a neophyte in terms of custom 1911's) find out really works for me and did it with great patience. He made the whole process enjoyable. He WILL be getting more business from me. Anyway, here are some new pics. Now if my Garrity leather would arrive soon.....

Very nice looking pistol Trumpet. Sounds like she is shooter too.
If you don't mind me asking what was the wait time with Bob?

Thanks,
Evan

Nice blaster.........

That's what so great about the 1911 platform; it can be molded into the user's style and needs. I'm glad it worked out for you.
