I've been a lurker here for a while and thought I would throw up some pictures of my recently completed 9mm project.

The gun started life as a Rock Island 38 super. Bob Serva at Fusion Firearms fit the barrel and one of his trigger groups. Ed Vanden Berg cut the Novak sights. I fit the beavertail safety (as you can tell! LOL) and thumb safety. Paul over at Simmons Gun Repair did the polishing and bluing. I'm very happy with how it turned out, though it is not nearly as nice as the custom pistols from the smiths on this forum. The gun is a dream to shoot. The recoil is practically non-existant and it is much more accurate than I am. Hope you enjoy the pictures...

It looks like a nice pistol but the pictures are a little dark and blurry. The grips are interesting.....who made them?

Those look like Carbon Creations grips. I'm going to order a pair of those soon.

I had something similar built from one of the "bumper chrome" .38 Supers. I sold this last year and actually really miss it!

Looking at your pictures makes me think I should get a blued gun and try again.

Sorry for the poor pics. I need to get a better camera and get some photography lessons!

I really enjoy shooting the gun. It's not as pretty as the ones usually posted here but it is a dream to shoot. Thanks for the positive comments!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; To my eye, basic, clean, and functional are beautiful. You can't go wrong with the classic lines of the 1911. Those Carbon Creations grips add just the right amount of flash.
