Here is a pistol I did for a friend at the University that I currently attend. He wanted a ground up build on a new Rock River Arms light rail frame. He is an Engineering student as well so he wanted to get down into the build. He even decided how the cocking serrations were to be cut and what size.

It sports:
Kart Barrel and Bushing
Caspian Slide lowered and flared
Grieder Trigger
Cylinder and Slide ignition
S&A Mag Guide
Brown Grip Safety
Brown Ambi Safety
Brown Extended Mag Catch plus Button Style also fit
Brown Extractor
Brown Ejector
Bo-Mar Rear Sight W/ Tritium
Tritium Front Sight

Options:
Standard flat top and serrate
Rear Serrations
Custom Cocking Serrations - front and back
Ball Cuts
Beveled bottom of Slide
Live round extraction cut

Finish is Birdsong Black T.

Thanks for looking and thanks to the LTW crew for letting me post pictures.

Very nice, indeed. The cocking serrations look quite "blocky", but work very well on this gun. Great work Bob, and pass on my congratulations to the proud owner.

If you look to the front of the ejection port, opposite side from the flare, you will see a cut that goes forward into the slide to give clearance for the nose of a live round. This is usually done when an extended ejector is used or shorter guns are made.

Scot, your stainless has this cut on it if I'm not mistaken.

Bob

nicely done, it is a unique pistol with input from the owner and excellent execution..........modern and functional.
The serrations are striking and the ball cut around the rail a nice touch.
Congrats to both of you.
Ok, I will take the next one :)

Believe me, when I hear good comments from these and the other smiths of LTW, it means something to me. It means a lot...a whole lot.

I'll be first also to confirm that I am heavily influenced by the gentlemen here at LTW. You can see some of their work within my own on a regular basis. I only hope that I can contribute to some design and technical work someday... and when I come up with something new, if I come up with something new, you gentlemen have every right to reproduce it as if it were your own - unless I patent it, then you're screwed

I appreciate allowing me to post here at LTW, and I love seeing the work here. Thanks for having me along for the ride...and thanks again for letting me showcase some of my work. If you guys ever need a hand, I'd be happy to contribute whatever I can for you guys.

Take care,
Bob

I've known Bob for a few years now, and I think he is going to continue to grow as a smith and improve. As his attention to detail gets better and better, we are going to see some great customs coming out of his shop. For those who don't know, Bob is a fulltime engineering student as well running Miller Custom. I look forward to seeing what he can do when he is done with school and goes fulltime.
