I'm not sure if I should be posting this question but here it goes. I have been considering having a new pistol built and I have been thinking about the type of finish I wanted. While doing so I have been spending extra time on the forum checking out old posts, especially the ones that stayed in my memory as being super cool guns. This one stood out but leaves me with a question.

Looking at the safety and slide release you can see that the part is stainless and the pin is nitre blued. It surprises me because I thought to do that type of blueing the entire piece needed to be done? If it can be done on a stainless part then does anybody know if parts like those could be hard chromed with nitre blue pins?

It's magic, and that's all I'll give away :D

The fun of building a pair like this is including the things that bring out the wow factor. As you've noticed, those things don't need to overpower the big picture - they can be as subtle as a couple of shiny little blue dots  This is the kind of detail you'll find on the custom guns by many builders - you just have to have a good eye.

Ok Ted I won't pry..... much . But if your not going to give the secret away how about just telling me if it is possible to do the same thing with a hardchrome part? I certainly agree with you about the small details. Those pins put the guns on another level. Well, not just the pins but they do add something special to the complete package. Like a matched pair of your signature guns isn't enough already. :D Man I would love to get my hands those guns. Truly unique.

Magic - I saw this at SHOT and had to look really close. Ted is the man!
