I have a bar of soap carved to resemble (somewhat) a 1911. Or at least you can tell it's supposed to be a gun of some sort.

Sorry, gonna have to make you wait. I'd like to say this is due to my naturally uncooperative demeanor, but it is simply a matter of, I don't have anything done enough to show pics. Another thing is, five of us LTW smiths are working on a package-- each one individually and independently. We kinda reached an informal consensus not so share details with each other until we got to SHOT, or at least until the last minute..... you know, until it was too late for us all to copy each other  .

Some of the guys have theirs done I think. I sure don't but it's gonna time out just right so that I can do the final polishing of the slide flats and extractor tuning on the plane on the way to Vegas. I'm sure TSA will understand  .

I'm going to be short of display material this year in terms of guns.... basically there will be LTW#4 which I did some work on, this one-of-five gun, and I might borrow back a gun I finished for a customer this summer, which I happen to know has not been shot much due to his job ramping up on account of upcoming events.

I will have a couple new products to debut though.... these have been my "second" job in recent months. Some 1911 stuff and some AR15 stuff. I promise to spill the beans on these before SHOT on LTW

Well, just in case TSA doesn't understand and find yourself in a communal shower, I would hold on tight to that bar of soap.

Come on Ned, pics!!! OF REAL GUNS :)

Well...you know what they say...

Great quality work takes time...

Perfection takes a little longer! I am sure Ned and the boys will have something real nice to show everyone. Good luck to you guys at the show and also remember that what happens in Vegas, STAYS in Vegas!

This is a conspiracy and downright mean of you all not to share those with us who won't get to go to SHOT :( I always look forward to seeing your work.

....and OH WHAT A PACKAGE IT IS.......

Ya know Ned, just to ramp this up a bit, you might mention that in addition to the 5 LTW smiths involved with this, um, little project, there are five artisans from 'another arena' involved.

Burton says the last minute is almost here  I'm thinkin' a couple of these cats might just escape the bag this weekend. Everyone's not going to SHOT, ya know....

Well Ted, just a guess here but I'll bet your cat is scratchin' real hard at that bag.... go ahead and let it out rather than risk personal injury. I'll bet some other cats come out real soon after 8)

I might let mine poke its head out.... let's see how the timing goes.... but I might hold back a few things so the gent who commissioned the set can still be the first "eyes on".

Oh yeah, the other guys. Each gun will have a companion knife. I didn't find out about this until halfway through the build-- I don't even know who the other guys drew but I'm paired with some dude named..... what was it..... Nial Blackstone? Nils Blackrock? Nevil Blanston?

Oh yeah, here it is:

Neil's Skirmish is looking killer. Are those onlays to get an idea of how to match it up to the stocks? Did I just say that?

Well, we know that Ned is coupled with Neil Blackwood. I wonder to whom the other 4 are paired. Hey Tim, you don't think Allen E. has been invited to the party do you? And what about that wiley Kit Carson?

Ok, I'm in.

The slicer/dicer guy I'm paired up with is none other than the well known Mr. Allen Elishewitz. ( http://www.elishewitzknives.com )

Burton, you gonna start a thread? Ted?
