A Colt 'New Agent' model yet? If so, would there be any pictures?

I made a point to check it out at SHOT. But due to the general SHOT info overload, I am really not sure if it's a better starting point than a Defender or not. I like the fact that there are no sight cuts, that opens some possibilities. It has a beavertail, so does the Defender, so there might be a few limitations there on perfecting the beavertail fit, although the ones I've seen, the fitting has not been so bad. Not up to high-end custom standards but certainly not heinous.

Note to Mark Downing - can we get an emoticon with that round headed guy just throwing up a little in his mouth?

Ned, you can have them all. But wait - you closed your list yesterday - how could you have known this question would come up today?

Perfect, Mark!

Did you swipe that one right from the New Agent page on Colt's site, or just read my mind again?

Colt has a web page? Are they still in business? hahahahahahahaha.

Actually, I had a pretty good idea what you were looking for.

I took a gander at the one on display at SHOT. The one thing that stuck out most to me was the trigger pull.

Thought about calling in a tow truck and hooking their winch to that trigger. I mean it was that hard to pull!!!! My wife COULDN'T EVEN PULL IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH - USING BOTH HANDS!!!!

I'm sure there's no trigger pull gauge on the planet that is capable of measuring how much poundage it actually took to make that hammer drop, so I'll just throw out a conservative estimate of 28lbs.

Seriously.

If that's what Colt had for their 'please come and handle this display gun' at SHOT, I'd hate to see what will end up on dealer shelves.

It's sad to see the Rampant Stallion essentially dead...

I figured that it might make a good starting point....it's really to bad that
you have to chuck most of it as you pull it from the box....

You've heard of the Glock "N.Y. Trigger" right? , well this is Colt's Kalifornia trigger.

I think I saw this gun at the 07 SHOT and I tend to agree with Mr. Brian's and others sentiments.

I've just been kinda watching this thread with the same sick fascination most impending train wrecks...
I'm suprised she didn't tip after mentioning the 90-A1s-- so, I wanna throw a few pennis on the tracks...
After seeing Harrison's EMP, I'd rather throw rocks at the Colt.
Factory fit on the Agent I handled was something like an Armscor/RIA 3" that I had to rebuild after the owner ran 250 rounds of 230gr +P terror down the bore in a single sitting.

Isn't asking about "slicking up" a New Agent kinda like asking to polish a...well...
here's the only way I can think to "spruce" one up:

Hey, could be worse-- he could be asking about an AM2000

So the NA does not have a beavertail-- I was thinking it did.

The only real dif I see between the NA and the Defender is the sights and the grips..... and the beavertail...... I mean, I hope the NA is just a defender with a few changes because the Defenders I've seen were great starting points in terms of barrel fit and overall solidity. And o'course it's not big deal getting the trigger down to clean, crisp, 22 pounds, you know, breaks like a glass r..... no, breaks like an 8 X 12 chimney tile.....

Couldn't you just as well get Caspian parts without sight cuts and chop them down? Then you wouldn't have to deal with the firing pin safety, duckbill cut or the trigger guard undercut either.

Oops. I need to read closer. The little Colt I was refering to in the above post must not have been an Agent. This was a double action (only) type. Can't recall the name. Sorry, my bad.
