Chuck

I really like this one! How about the arched mainspring housing, did you start with a smooth arched one?
This would look great paired with my OD Green USP Tactical .45. Hard to get the green the proper color,
this one looks like it hit the mark on color too. [Cant wait to see more pictures]

Wow, Chuck!!

This one is spoken for.
The arched mainspring housing was a challenge.
The finish is OD Green Cerakote over park.

That things is ALL BIDDNESS BABY!

Is the rear sight custom or does someone make it like that with the YOBO looking sight and has a shadow box rear?

I tried out those grips the other day and they do GRAB!

Beautiful.... military meets art!

Chuck,

Who do I have to "off" to get a gun built? LOL.

Great looking work piece as usual. I am sure it performs as good as it looks!

If the gun was for Al Gore he would claim to have invented the 1911 and get a Nobel Prize for it  It does look Nobel Prize worthy! Could Larry Davidson insert a mini Nobel Prize medallion into a set of grips for it I wonder? :D

Love the sights!

One thing I love is the smoothness of Mr. Rogers' guns. They look like they were just removed from a tumbler that evenly removed ALL sharp edges, not just the standard dehorning. I would just love to sit and watch him at work. I am not a colored gun kinda guy but I must admit that this one is simply stunning. I especially like that it is the commander lenght, that I prefer.

And THAT is a FACT. I can guarantee you that Chuck spends a lot of time on that one particular thing, and IMHO he's the best there is at it.

The golfball treatment on the raised portion of the grip safety is a really nice touch. And I can tell you from experience (I have 3 guns from Chuck) that his dehorning work feels as good in the hand as it looks.

How well does that finish hold up compared to Gunkote, Duracoat, and Molyresin?

The Birdsong Black T, or in this case Green T, is quite durable. I do not have any experience with Duracoat or Gunkote, but the HKP7 that I had refinished in Black T over 13 years ago has held up remarkably well. This includes a great deal of holster carry and just tucked into the waistband and getting very sweaty carry.

That is a gorgeous piece of work. Everytime I look at it I see something that I missed before. Again, nice work.

Chuck I am seeing more of your pieces paired with a knife. Are you offering customized blades as a package now?

gb,
Yup! Look for more.
The only thing I like as much as a custom 1911 is a customized auto knife for daily chores.
Are they superior to a manual? By no means. But they are kinda fun!
:D

Chuck,

What a great piece! I must have pulled up this page over twenty times since you first posted it. I hope this one comes to Orlando so we can see if in person.

Great job.

Sometimes OD green comes out looking bad (at least on camera, pea soup)........

.........this is NOT one of those times!

It's also not often I like a gun with an arched MSH, IMO, you really did this one right.

Nicely done!
