Hi

After several years and many 1911s my favorite is the Lightweight Colt Commander. I want to have a custom built anyone have a couple of photos?
I was wondering if the normal custom work seen on the front strap can still be done?\ I really like the old style guns with the Smith & Wesson sights

Thanks TJ

I can't seem to find the thread, but CT Brian did one with X shaped front-strap/MSH serration and desert ironwood grips that was out of this world.

I have a Springfield AL frame that will be a 38 super commander if i ever find the time to get it done. Love lightweights for carry.

The greatest lightweight commander of them all :D
This work was done by the madman himself, Ned Christiansen.
This gun has it all, including internal work like a dovetailed steel feedramp insert, reworked accurails, and a custom magwell/MSH.

Ned's work is always out of this world..and maybe out of the next!

Someone once said.."Ned marches to the beat of his own drummer" I am pretty sure Ned has his own band...and they rock!

Nice gun!

Thanks for the replies, this may be my best post ever.
Don't you wish you could work metal like CT & Ned.

Keith, thanks for posting that-- I was trying to remember if it was a LW or not. Wish I had some pics of how the magwell is done, if I run across them I'll post 'em.

As I recall that one has 400-some Conamyds on it. Yer lucky I didn't charge per-Conamyd

have had several requests for more pics so I will shoot some tonight.

Ned,
I will take the grips off to show the magwell. I also have some build pics on another computer that you sent me that I could post if you don't mind.
