I know, its not a 1911, but I hope some still find it interesting.

Customer wanted a beavertail on his P210-6 as he was getting some pretty severe hammer bite. He said the gun was a shooter not a safe queen, so we said we would see what we could do.
This was the first time I had worked on a P210 and as you can imagine I was a little nervous taking a welder/milling machine/file to the frame of an expensive and virtually irreplacable gun. Bruce did the welding and I did the rest.
It took me far longer than this project should have taken but Bruce was patient with me since it was the first time I had done one to a P210 and there is no room for error on this type of gun. The next time we need to do one we have developed a little bit of a system so it should go much faster.

Here is what came out:

That looks pretty good. I've got a P220 SAO that I'm having some issues with. May need to reach out to you guys for some help. Seems my natural grip with the thumb riding the safety is causing me to depress the slide lock thereby preventing the slide from locking back on empty. Think there's a fix you guys might be able to implement that would allow me to retain my grip? By the looks of the work you've done on this weapon, I'm guessing something like that should be easy day for you guys.

This may be the first I've seen this particular Sig - may have to look this one up on The Google!

If you have never shot a P210 you are truly missing out. They are probably one of the finest quality production handguns ever made, not to mention probably the most accurate production handgun with the Sig X-5 running close behind them. The fire control mechanism uses a very ingenious design that gives a very sweet trigger pull.

Shoot me an email, I can show you pics of a modification that would probably fix your problems, it is quite common work for us.

email inbound brother. I looked the 210 up last night and the price certainly tells the tale. I think one of these may have to go on my list after the next deployment. Some interesting caliber options.

Very nice job, I'm sure that did take some time. I remember it wasn't that many years ago you could pick up a Danish 210/M49 for $800-900. Now that Sig has stopped production on the 210 even the ratty ones are over two grand.

Year ago my "cousin" Jess Christensen sent me a photo of him with his duty SIG P210 and another P210, doing the "border switch".... over concrete....! He still tell of how accurate the 210's are..... he represented the Royal Danish Navy Military Police in formal target shooting with one. O'course the ammo these guys were issued was super top-notch too, Norma 110's or 115's with a steel penetrator--- HOT stuff.

That looks incredible, but if it was me I would NEVER have modified a P210, I've shot one before and it is quite possibly the most perfect 9mm ever produced.

Ooh that's nice.
I managed to get a P210 this winter through a combination of good fortune and some excellent timing. Actually, mine is one of the ex-Danish M49s that I passed up for half the money a few years ago.
Anyway, I can attest to the hammer's appetite. That thing eats me alive. That beavertail looks a lot nicer than the piece of cut up 2-liter bottle I'm using for a beavertail on mine!
