At our local IDPA matches here in the Seattle area we've noticed a large number of shooters going over from semi-autos to revolvers. My question is, has anyone noticed this elsewhere or is it just a localized phenomena?

I myself picked up a S&W 625 and have been having a ball with it, much to the dismay of my wife who knows how much money I have sunk in 1911's. I really enjoy the new challenges that shooting a revolver well poses.

Must be the tap water. Nobody I know owns a revolver, much less shoots it at a match. :D

You know you might be right! I laugh that I take such joy in prepping a double action trigger when for years the only triggers I liked were single action.

Revolvers in general are very popular among many people who carry. Smith and Wesson K and L frames with 2 1/2 and 3 inch barrels are great carry guns right out of the box.

Six inch barrels model 14's shot winning scores at PPC matches ( just with trigger job done to them)... at 50 yards....

Most people never took their time to master DA and are not good enough to really take advantage of the revolvers accuracy and speed.

As far as LEO Duty guns ,revolvers are gone for a while now...... What a four inch S&W model 66 was then .....now is a Glock 22. ......BUT I ALWAYS DREAM THAT ONE DAY MY DEPARTMENT WILL LET US CARRY A 1911.......
