R. Lee Ermey (gotta check spelling on that) is now fronting for Glock and will be at their booth different times. I always liked this guy, since way before Mail Call on the History Channel, and am anxious to meet The Gunny. Hope we can snag him coming by our booth for a photo op!

Man, I hope Mikhail Kalashnikov is there again. Missed my chance two years ago to get a pic and autograph.

Full Metal Jacket, is there a better Sgt. than R. Lee? I could go on for hours with quotes from that movie. Hilarious when he talks about what a well trained marine and his rifle can do. Good stuff Ned, let's see if he has time to come by.

A funny story about Mr. K....

In '95 or so at the SHOT show in Dallas, I was talking to a friend, Hershel Davis - Retired Command Master Chief od Team 5, former UDT and Seal - a 31 year Bull Frog, and one hell of a neat guy. This breathless booger-eater comes up and says he wanted to introduce us to Mikhail K - I'd never seen the man, and was a little surprised to see he's not "larger than life".

When introduced, Hershel simply said " Nice to meet you little fella, I've shot lots of folks carrying your guns!"

I doubt his translator related the true message

Got to meet Gunny Ermey in the 1990's in San Diego with Toys for Tots. What a neat guy.

Got to meet with him again almost 10 years later doing some Mail Call and History Channel stuff. The man has a lot of energy.
