This Springfield was recently completed as a joint effort between Chuck Rogers and me. Its purpose was to help fund LTW's presence at the SHOT and NRA Shows...... not an inexpensive endeavor. It sold at just under $6K, not a bad deal for the taker since, while Chuck and I work well together, we have never done it except for one other "revenue gun" a couple years ago. But the good news is that another such rev gun, a collaboration between Don Williams and John Harrison, will be available in the next few weeks. I don't have any more info on that one; anyone interested in snapping that one up, I'd say contact John or Don....
Chuck's part on this was everything from the rails down, I took rails up. Chuck provided, fitted, and modified the following parts on the lower end:
Wilson magazine catch, Brown hardcore slide stop, Wolff recoil spring, Wilson hammer, Wilson sear, Colt disconnector, EGW thumb safety, S&A grip safety, Davidson grips, Greider trigger. Chuck's trigger work is always exemplary and this one was a perfectly crisp 3.75 pounds.
For my part, I used a match barrel generously provided by Springfield. Their stainless barrels have been among the best for a long time-- this one is a new configuration, not available as an aftermarket part, but as Springfield has from the start been a big supporter of LTW's mission, one sortof, ah, slipped out with my address on it. I shot a group that made me feel like MAYBE I still "have it", using Asym's 185 JHP target load at 775 FPS.... just over an inch at 28 yards. And, in the interest of honestly and full disclosure, no, I was not able to subsequently duplicate it (but close!). Other parts as noted with the pics. I finished it with manganese phosphate and Brownell's Baking Laquer.
Overall left side:
Chuck's excellent Golfballs abound on this one. I think it's the best self-cleaning traction treatment going:

Golfballs, a little closer. This one also shows Chuck's signature dehorning..... tried my best to emulate it on the top end:
Part of my part: Shield Driver sights. Why is it that lint and water drops can't be seen in real life but they jump out at you in pictures?
Shield Driver rear sight and matched, textured slide rear.... EGW extended ejector.
The front end-- an EGW stainless 80% bushing that I have bored, then angle-rebored to fit the Springfield match barrel.... also has my sculpted, angled front face:
