If not, why?

And is the Wilson sight a Novak cut that will fit either Novaks or Heinie slant pro (my preference)?

I like Wilson's sights. They offer very clean sight picture, IMO, and their rear tritium vials are nearly invisible in daylight and don't distract you from the front sight. When it comes to rear sights, my first choice is Heinie, then Wilson, and then Novak is distant last. Don't like adjustable sights at all. I think Wilson sights require their own proprietary cut, but I may be wrong.

I put a set on a pistol to play with. While they aren't a bad sight, I'd take a Heinie or Novak over them (all fit the Novak rear sight cut). I didn't think the angle cuts on the rear were helpful and found that the wider top edge of a Heinie or Novak helped me get my sight picture better and faster. I also didn't care for the curved rear face of them. I was going to file it flat and serrate it but since the Heinie already comes that way, it was an easy decision to just install a Heinie instead.

I like them fine but don't get many guns spec'd with them. Personally, to me, the Heinies, Wilsons, and Novaks are equal in utility and sight picture, and after that it's about how they look or feel to the individual. The rear faces are all different and I think the flat, serrated surface of the Heinie gets points with people for the traditional look and perceived cleaner sight pic.

Okay, I have my doubts about this. (Jedi mind trick on)In order to prove me wrong I will send you my slide to serrate my sights and then send it back, along with that fine 1911 you just posted, free of charge.(Jedi mind trick off)

Did it work? No!? I should have practiced the Jedi mind trick thing in the academy more...dang.

I thought he sawed the sight in half, cut the serrations, then welded it back together again. You never cease to amaze me Ned!

To stay on topic, no, I don't care for Wilson sights. Personal preference.

Now Ned, that image really ought to be on your website. That little gun, especially because of its tastefully blended lanyard loop, and gently rounded MSH/grip, is one of my favorite from your bench. That sight is cool. Get it added to the site, fella!

Be well!

I know how Ned did it....he used magic fairy dust

Poof, a masterful toss of the fairy dust on said rear sight and...BAM! (a`la Emeril)....perfectly cut serrations.

Ned,

You remind me of a mad scientist, in a good way. I love some of the cool things that you do.

Do you sleep with a pyramid covered in tin foil, over the bed at night?

Ray

P.S.: The sights you made for my P225s worked out great.

Funny, I have often though, and even referred to him as The Mad Scientist. The intelligence, imagination, and moxy to pull off some very interesting metal manipulations...

Be well!

I have a nice CQB that works well for me - the very first paper target at the range was a keeper, a nice match for the factory target, so I have to admit the sights work but I don't have to like them

- I go Heinie classic - serrated slide serrated sight but I have to say likely habit and good enough rather than by test to find the best.

I have considered replacing the sights on the Wilson likely only if I still have the pistol after the sights go dim (I am inclined to agree with Tritium on the front only for my own use so that will be the replacement anyway )
