:D
I just picked up this STI 10mm Commander from Marianne Carniak at The Accurizer in Troy, Michigan, and thought I would share a few photos.
It is a high cap 2011 frame with STI commander length slide. The barrel is a Para/Listner ramped Schuemann AET Utli-match hybrid port which has been reamed to 10mm. The front sight is a SVI fiber optic, the rear is a standard Novak. The frame block and slide were hardchromed. I have only fired 75 rounds, so far it has been flawless.

Marianne, a 10mm, and a guy named Ken..... hmmm, I'll bet I know which Ken that is. You have a real thing for the 10, don't you? Gun looks great, and I presume she took the pics too. I need to get a gun like that one o' these days. Thanks for the peek!

Ned, guilty as charged. You have an uncanny memory. It probably wouldn't surprize you to find she has another 10mm (Caspian) in the works, should be available early summer. I'd be willing to drive this one over if you'd like to shoot it! These pics are mine, I bet Marianne's are better!

Regards,

Ken

Hypersonic,

I am a big 10mm fan myself, and I have a 10mm commander sized 1911, albeit a single stack Caspian, that I absolutely love. That pistola of yours looks like a fun one. How is the recoil with the polymer frame and the muzzle blast with the comp? I would think the comp to be pretty effective with the 10mm, thus negating the lightweight frame, but I have no experience with comps on 1911s or STI frames.

Either way, that's a sweet 10. Congrats, and be sure to give us a look at that Caspian when it's done. Any more 10s to share?

Jim,
I have never shot a stock STI 2011 frame, however this one seems to have slightly less recoil than my Deltas. I haven't seen the muzzle blast, I'm sure there is some. The ports on this barrel are fairly large, and seem to keep clean. It helps that the sight is prior to the ports. I have a Glock with a Schuemann ported barrel, I can only see the tritium front sight for the first shot.

The Caspian will have dual top ends, a 5" and 6". Including the Caspian I will have six 10mm's, (Glock 20, 29, and 2 Deltas, 1 Caspian 1911, and 1 STI 1911). There's always hope I'll find a clean Delta Gold Cup or Enhanced model to add along the way.

Here's a pick of the Deltas. The blued Delta is sporting Larry Davidson grips!
