I got Caspian's new catalogue yesterday from Gary and his crew and they are now offering a frame with the plunger tube that is machined into the frame.

I know it wasn't in the old catalogue and was wondering if any you guys have had the chance to play with or work on one. Seems like it has promise.

The one good thing about it is that it will NEVER shoot loose. One drawback is that it will always be there, unless you mill it off. I don't know how the person working on it will charge someone if they wanted the flats polished though. When I was working on my frame, I was glad to be able to remove the plunger tube so I can polish the flats without an obstruction. I replaced it with a new plunger tube (very inexpensive) and crimped it tight. I don't expect mine to come loose without some elbow grease.

I am personally very fond of Caspian parts. They are top notch quality items with awesome precision machining. The only thing I would complain about is the CNC machining of their logo. Sharper points and smoother curves and straights would be nice.

im not a custom builder but i "think' i would love the idea.

(havent seen it yet)

the only reason i say that is i have had them fall off before. ... and for a self defense pistol ect.ect.ect.....

i know that properly crimped/staked ones probably wont ever come out. BUT their is a small chance......

i think its a good idea to the age old design...
