Ned,

I really like the finish on these pistols. If I didn't know better I would think they were some sort of Titanium alloy. I worked in the smelting industry most my life and I have worked with a lot of Aluminum alloys which had really small amounts of Ti in them yet they were very hard to lathe so we could get a shot of the alloy in the spectrograph.

I realize these are stainless but especially looking at the picture of the butt of the slide even makes it look more like Ti.

Just rambling

Gary

I think you guys are letting Ned off easy on this one. A couple extra pictures and you're happy? Those pics are great, but really just a big tease, I want to see more, LOTS more!

Seriously though, looks awesome Ned. Classic Christiansen all the way!

I love the grips on this gun. I tried to go to http://www.dutyrated.com and it apparently does not exist. Who made these and are they still around somewhere?

Those look like the Mad Dog (of knives fame) grips. If so, they haven't been made for a while and usually go for a pretty penny when they show up for sale. I tried them and didn't like them because they are too "square" in profile which make the 1911 feel more like a double-column plastic gun.
