Whoo hoo! Someone is very fortunate indeed.

What a great way to honor Chip's memory. I am yet again reminded what a special place this is.

Well this one is done. The high bid was $4500.00 dollars plus some very gracious single donations to the cause.

The single donations go as follows.

Scot Semmens came in with $200.00

And three other anonymous donors provided an additional $400.00 and change. (One donor was not specific on his gift)

The grand total is approximately $5100.00.
This is going to a fine young man in honor of his father Chip Breeze. If Chip were here this is what he would be about.

To everyone who made a bid or a single donation, please PM me your address so we can send you an LTW shirt as a thank you.

On behalf of everyone at LTW it is a pleasure to work on these guns and have you a part of what we originally conceived. I don't say this casually you guys are the best the industry has to offer.

Thanks again,

Steve

Nothing quite like coming back from a good op with jackpot achieved to find even more good news. Well done all around and best wishes to the young man whose father obviously touched a few lives in a positive way.

Not having a computer at home I had to wait until I checked in this morning at work.

There is nothing I can add that has not already been said about the LTW board, smiths, associates, supporters and members. It is nothing short of miraculous that proves humanity does have a future. I am man enough to admit this has brought me to tears. It will bring Betty and Justin to tears. Not the money, the people. That is the common thread that made all of us so close. That we associated with others so selfless that they gave of themselves without hesitation.

I salute the best humanity has to offer. I am forever in LTW's debt.

Al, you may think it's us, but we think it's you and the likes of Chip. And all the LTW supporters out there-- it's all nothing without youse. Nice little thing we all have going on here, eh? :D

Groundbranch, may you have nothing but jackpots and then come safe. Keep up the good work.

Once again I'm in awe of what this community can accomplish.

For me it gives an enormous sense of pride and satisfaction to see you folks come together and do something absolutely fantastic for a friend you may not have met yet. I had the honor of building up Chip's "retirement" gun - specially inscribed to commemorate his service to his community. My phone calls and correspondence with Chip during that process only emphasized his value to that community and to our little community here. We talked about our kids, their futures, their accomplishments, and it was clear that Chip was terribly proud of Justin. My bet is the apple didn't fall too far from the tree. Chip was also blessed with the friendship of our pals Al Shear, J R Munsey, and Jim Keeney, and these friends continue to remind us of the contributions of our absent friend "Witherspoon".

Thanks again for all those who contributed to this project, and to the lucky auction winner.....well, you've done well on many levels. Be very proud, and enjoy that pistol - there's a lot of heart in there, as well as a good bit of the LTW spirit. I think Ol' Witherspoon would be happy.

I can only re-emphsize what Al and Ted (and others)have said here, a fantastic pistol...built by and bidded on by the best folks in the world, to honor a warrior/gentleman that is too rare these days. But not so on this forum. To get the true feelings I had for Chip, one only need look at my "signature" line below, or the one that another warrior/gentleman named Al Shear uses. Thank you and may God Bless you all. (Now Al pass the Kleenex Box please)!--John

The winner wanted to remain anonymous. I can tell you however, that in my PM's with him he is a sharp guy that really understood he was getting a fine pistol and the reason for the auction did not escape him for a second. Everybody won on that deal.

I can certainly respect that. Great job by all involved and THANK YOU to everybody who donated the time and materials, and espescially to those who bid and/or donated to this auction. You all have certainly helped out an incredible family. A book that I treasure (and try to study) on how to be a gentleman, and much of the literature I have on the same subject (some going back to the 1700-1800s) all state the definition of a gentleman as "One who makes life a little more comfortable for others...a little more bearable." Well, that is a very precise but short summary of the title, and a very fitting descriptor for ALL of the members of this site. Ted, thank you once again for pulling this incredible crew together! Hope everyone's weekend is safe and fantastic!!--John

Congrats and a large heartfelt THANKS to the winning bidder of this pistol! Also thanks to the other contributers/donors to the cause.

It is my loss that I never got to meet Chip personally, from what I know of the man. What a great way to honor and remember him, and do something for his family. I am awed by this community!

Well, it took a long time but I finally caught up with Justin and Bettie in one place at the same time. It goes without saying how surprised they were as they had no clue what was coming. Justin is one of the finest young men with a great head on his shoulders and Bettie always has been the fantastic mother and wife and wonderful friend. If there ever was the quintessential American poster family the Brezee family was it. What follows is Justins thank you that he just sent me to post for him. I'm hoping the pics will follw shortly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Justin Brezee:

"To everyone at LTW,

I can only begin by expressing my deepest thanks to the entire LTW community. I can vividly remember how fondly my Dad spoke of you all, and how much he enjoyed spending time sharing and chatting on the forum. It is such an encouragement to see all the kind words that were shared on the thread. My Mom and I were just talking the other day about the kind of reputation my father had and how highly he was thought of by those he knew and had contact with. It is such a blessing to see this first hand.

I wanted to especially thank those who donated and contributed to the special gun project which resulted in monies being donated towards my education. Your hard work and sacrifice means more to me than words can express.

I am an Information Science major at Christopher Newport University, and I am in my final semester. I will be using the donations to start paying off my student loans.

My Dad greatly enjoyed spending time sharing and learning about firearms, and I greatly enjoyed learning about everything he passed down to me. One of his most favorite hobbies and passions is quickly becoming one of my own as I continue to build upon everything that he taught me over the years. And with communities such as LTW, I can easily see why there is such an interest in learning about firearms. I will never forget how helpful and gracious you all have been to me and the great tribute you have created to my Dad’s memory.

Thank you for all that you have done to encourage and bless my Mother and me. "

Al....thank you so much for passing this along to us, and I'm sorry that I coul not make it up there for the presentation. Please pass along to Justin that I am SURE he would be welcomed here by "the family", I think there is definately room for a "Witherspoon, Jr." here, and think this fantastic young man would definately fit in well. Best regards my friend--John

What a great note from Justin, it is nice to hear he and his mother are doing well. I think I can speak on behalf of everyone not just the LTW guys who had something to do with this but these situations are the reason why Ted started this and we all got behind it. We don't always hear from the people who received a donation but it sure is nice.

We made some great contacts with other charities this year. Stay tuned we should be able to post some details about them in the coming weeks. Again, thanks for the update things went very well.

Steve

I know this is old but I thought those that participated and are interested in what LTW stands for might want to see Justin Brezee being presented the check from the proceeds of the LTW gun for his college fund. The old guys are my Chief, Steve Hoskins in the white shirt and myself in the black Sgt. uniform, the youngster in the middle is of course Justin. When I can, I will try for more pictures if possible.
