An extremely belated set of THANK YOUs is in order! My universe has been busy beyond comprehension of late, even by my standards. Lots of great things cooking, leaving little internet time....

First off, thank you BP for being what amounts to the perfect customer. It was truly a pleasure working with you and building your pistol. I sincerely hope it gives you a lifetime of enjoyment! Your comments mean the world to me, as you are a truly discerning connoisseur of the 1911. And with a collection like yours, it is a lot to live up to. It was a privilege to be able to give you a tour of the pistol in person, and show you some of the details that go into my builds....thanks for acting interested the whole time  And I must thank you for your patience; as you found out, pieces don't come quickly off of my bench, but it's my hope the end result is worth it.

And a huge thank you to my peers and others for all the kind words!

A few short notes....
The slide top features what I call Herringbone Checkering™. The front sight is made from scratch in house to exacting tolerances to enable a "3 Dimensional Blend" which is nearly seamless, flush in all dimensions, with no gaps anywhere. I actually debuted the combination of a slide top with Herringbone Checkering™ and 3D Blend™ front sight at SHOT 2008, but it just hadn't made it to the web until now. Somehwere I have a pic of that pistol I might just have to dig up.....

The pistol features the latest iteration of my Progressive Traction Checkering™ on the frontstrap, and integrally machined on the mainspring housing, frame and magwell. And yes, that is a Chen Magwell Suite™, that I TIG'd on and blended. All in all, the pistol is an example of a full house build from my shop. For now, I think the pics say it better than I can....though I will say one more thing...have I ever mentioned that...

I LOVE MY JOB! :D

Thanks BP; you are one those that give me the opportunity to do something I truly love!

Stan and I had the pleasure of speaking on the phone a few years back and I have wanted a firearm out of his shop for some time now. Every chance I get to see one his new pieces it always brings back that urge to have him build one. One of these days it will happen.

Very well done Stan

They do have a tendency to do that to a feller 8) . However, when I was waiting for mine I kept a “Chen” picture file and kept everything I could find to help me ease the wait. It does help and you will appreciate yours even more when you receive it. I still have to get around to taking some amateur pics of a few other things that you and others may also appreciate.
