This 4 digit 1970 Combat Commander has a super nice feature set, including custom front and rear sights, Guard forged square and checkered, Chen Magwell Suite welded on. Cherry on top being Black PVD over Hardchrome 2 tone.

The Lovely Checkered stocks care of Sean's Ugly Grips, I added medallions as a nod to the OEM grips Colt used for many years.

Those pics kinda made me feel all warm and fuzzy!

As you may know I've had suuuuch trouble with DLC over chrome. Looks like a great job of it there, whoever did it for ya. The problem with my lastest, I believe, was
Chrome it, send to DLC "broker".
DLC broker blasts it, sends to DLC source.
DLC source blasts it.

Result-- little to no chrome left. I won't ask who you used but David at Evolution Armory sounds like he ought to be the best guy to go through these days.

You got me confused Ned?? The topend on this one is PVD/DLC, the bottom half is chrome, were you trying to DLC something that was chrome or?

Where you said "Black PVD over hard chrome" I did not take that to mean the that the slide is "over" the frame, I took it to mean PVD on top of chrome. I get it now..... either way it looks great!

Yes, I've done DLC over chrome a few times. Great when it works! Some day I will do one with DLC over something better at corrosion resistance like electroless nickel. I asked and they said "can do".

Ah yes, I see how we managed to confuse each other haha!
