I'm curious who has had any experience with this model? I know Kimber only made a limited number in 2003. That concerns me, that they've discontinued them. Also, I'm curious if anyone has had experience with this guns "sights". They have a "sight trench" along the slide but no actual sights.

I currently carry a Kimber Ultra Shadow, 3" with night sights and love it.
I just wonder about this "smaller" more concealable model.

Thanks for any and all input.

I’ve handled and played with one but never shot it... the lack of sights are a big turn off to me. I’ve played with “trench sights” in the past but never really thought that much of them. I like my guns with them bumpy things on top of the slide... they kinda’ come in handy when I want to shoot stuff.

Seems to me the Guttersnipe and descendents works really well for some people. See especially Jim Cerillo on aligning the pistol more than the sights -

However my own view of the sights is much like my view of the P7 - shared by many and commonly expressed by Mas Ayoob - nothing better if it suits your needs but not the most versatile for the man who shoots a lot of different guns.

There is a trend in current combat to go with really big sights - one of the fine smiths on this site mentions that his variation of the MEU for general use has lower sights than the true military version.

I'd label the gutter sites a commitment not a date.

I'm sorta of the opinion that is it doesn't have decent sights, you just might not hit what you're trying to aim at.

Especially in a serious social encounter. Just my 02.

I only lowered them a little. On breezy days the sail-like front sight made it hard to stay on target. :D

One of the coolest little .45's I have seen that is in the RCP vein is CT Brian's Sidewinder (actually the RCP and other's) are more in the Sidewinder vein. Check it out on his web site.
