I regret to inform all of the passing of a guy who was a great friend to LTW, Jim Tighe. I just found out last night; he passed away late November, 2021.

We knew him as Captain Jim Tighe, but at the time of his death he was Lt. Col. Tighe, no surprise.

Jim was a long time supporter of LTW, in many ways-- in every way he could---- and a friend to all of us. How do you define good luck? When you know a decorated, high-ranking officer in the military with a long history of amazing deeds and accomplishments, a chest full of medals that he rarely if ever mentions, who will do anything for you or your organization. But to you, his is just your friend Jim. That's good luck.

His obit can be seen here:

On the military side of his life, to boil it down to awards, knowing him as a guy who did things because they needed doing and never for recognition,, he would not appreciate me doing it that way but it is impressive:
Jim served 34 years in the military and received Bronze Star Valor Device (third award), Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal (third award), Army Commendation (second award), Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with three stars, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with award, National Defense Service Medal (second award), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forced Reserve Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forced Reserve Medal with M Device (third award), NATO Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Parachutist Badge.

Everything he did, he did all the way, with dedication-- and as important as his military service was to him, I felt certain that his family was the top priority. In countless phone conversations to include many calls with Jim calling from Afghanistan, he never failed to mention his wife, and son Joey. Having Joey in his life was a big, big deal to Jim and I always got an update on the lad.... from the time I met the boy at SHOT in 07 or 09 (Orlando) to our most recent conversation which must have been less than six months before his death-- I got the Joey update.

So sorry to see you go, Jim. Thanks for everything.

Sad to learn of Jim's passing, I only met him once, at the SHOW Show and thought him to be a class act. And gone at 58.... What a shame.

I edited the first post a bit as I had included a link that was not available outside the LTW BOD.

So sorry to hear this😥. Jim was a good guy. I still have the flag he flew in Afghanistan that he gave me mounted on the wall of my office. Go with God, Jim.
